Budget: tracking what your event costs

Last updated: 2026-06-26

Set a budget, break it into categories, and track every cost and payment.

Budget helps you keep your event's spending under control — from a top-line number down to individual payments.

Budget is an optional feature. Turn it on from Event settings → Features, in the Planning group. Switching it off later hides it without deleting any of your figures.

How it works

  • Set an overall budget, or leave it open to simply track as you go.
  • Create categories like Catering, Flowers or Music, each with an amount you've set aside.
  • Add line items for each expected cost.
  • Record payments against an item as you make them — including partial payments — so you can see what's paid versus still owing.

Currency

Pick the currency your event is in and Vesavo shows it throughout. Currency is display only — the numbers you type are exactly what's stored, and changing the currency only changes the symbol, never the amounts.

Works with Vendors

If the Vendors feature is also on, you can assign a budget item to a particular vendor — so it's clear who each cost is paid to. Turn both on from Features to link them up.
